Location: Barony of Bjornsborg (San Antonio, TX)
Persona Information: Predslava resides in mid-12th century Novgorod; her husband is a merchant (that's why he never appears at events, he's always away), she has two daughters, owns considerable lands of her own. She visits quite often the Barony of Bjornsborg, where the presence of numerous Vikings makes her feel right at home.
Slavic Interests: I am interested in everything, and I have to restrain myself constantly. I've tried tablet weaving, costuming, jewelry making (out of polymer clay/FIMO), I do a lot of research, I study names, I've tried to be the herald but kept losing papers under piles of kids' drawings, I do embroidery, I try to paint, to figure out the strokes for Cyrillic calligraphy (help, anyone?), and to tell stories.
Other Information: I hold an MA in Slavic Languages and Literatures, teach Russian at the college level, and lecture on Russian folklore, women's history (mundanely), and in the SCA, I'll try to teach just about anything on Russian history, life and culture. I have two daughters, 8 and 12, who are the reason I had to take a break from active participation at events, and who may force me to branch out into other cultures. I am a bona fide Russian, although born in France, and now a US citizen. And most of all, I wish I had a horse.
