Persona Information: Ivan is quite the wanderer, stemming from his merchant
father who was continually taking him along on trading voyages. Originally
from Ryazan', he has traveled throughout Rus', and to the West as well,
including to Byzantium and Rome. While in Rome, he met his wife, Lady
Cwenthryth wine, who was there on pilgrimage.
SCA Interests: Costuming (Russian and Western), Embroidery, Icons, bylini
(Russian folk epics), and Byzantine and Russian jewelry, art, and history.
Oh, yeah, and medieval choral and instrumental music.
Other Information: Apprenticed to Mistress Bronwyn ferch Gwyn ap Rhys.
Mundanely, I hold a bachelor's degree in Russian Language and Literature
with a certificate in Slavic studies from Dartmouth College, and an M.A. in
Slavic Languages and Literatures from the University of Wisconsin -
Madison. Since getting my M.A., however, I've taken a great shift in
direction, and now work for a healthcare industry software company, doing
quality assurance and implementation.
