Slavic Interests: Things Bohemian and things Slavic -
mainly Early Medieval archaeology and history, but with a large smattering
of "misc.". I'm partway through some research into documentable Czech names
pre-1650ish.
Other Information:
By training I'm an archaeologist and by trade a translator
specialising in work for museums, monuments and archaeologists. This means
that quite a lot of raw information relevant to the SIG/SCA passes across my
desk, and I try to pass this on as appropriate. My wife is Czech; we have
two children and live about 30 miles north of Prague. My particular drug
(i.e. thing that is expensive and utterly addictive) is travelling, whether
by car, bus, coach, train, boat, plane, bicycle rickshaw or tuk-tuk, and
I've visited around 30 countries in Europe, North America and South-East
Asia. Other than that, I also write poetry and some prose (both fiction and
non-fiction).
